Can you fabricate stair treads from my customer's existing flooring material?
Yes. That is the core of what we do. You drop off the flooring material from the project and we fabricate the stair tread from it. The match is real because it is made from the same floor.

Flooring stores, installers, and trade buyers who regularly need exact-match stair parts and finishing accessories are our core customers. Homeowners are welcome too — if you have leftover flooring from your project, we can fabricate matching treads, nosings, or vent covers directly for you.
I'm a homeowner, not a flooring store — can I order directly?
Yes. You do not need a trade account. Bring the leftover planks from your flooring install to our Sterling, VA shop and we will fabricate matching stair treads, stair nosings, or vent covers from them. If you are not sure what to bring, call or text (571) 208-6437 first.
Do you work directly with flooring stores and installers?
Yes. Flooring stores and repeat trade buyers are our primary customers. We can set up dealer pricing and repeat ordering for stores that send consistent work.
Where is Custom Stair House located and how do I drop off material?
We are located at 45700 Woodland Rd #160, Sterling, VA 20166. Drop off the project flooring material there Monday through Saturday, 8am to 6pm. Call or text (571) 208-6437 to coordinate.

Can you handle stair treads, nosings, and vent covers for the same project?
Yes. Many orders include multiple accessories from the same job — treads, nosings, and vent covers can all be fabricated together from the same flooring material.
What flooring materials can you work with?
We fabricate from customer-provided hardwood, engineered wood, laminate, and vinyl flooring. Send us the project details and we can confirm fit based on what the job involves.
How do you match stair nosings or vent covers to hardwood flooring?
We fabricate from the actual flooring material tied to the project. The result matches the floor because it is made from the same floor — not stain-matched or approximated.
Do you make floating stair treads?
Yes. We fabricate thick custom floating stair treads to spec for mono stringer, double stringer, and open-riser staircases. Stair manufacturers and stair builders are a big part of this work — we handle repeat production runs as well as single staircases.
Do you remodel existing staircases?
Yes. Our stair remodeling service replaces treads, risers, handrails, newel posts, and balusters on your existing staircase, including carpet-to-wood conversions. Send a few photos of your stairs and we will quote the full scope.
Do you make flush mount wood vent covers?
Yes. We fabricate flush mount wood vent covers from the project flooring material so the vent reads as part of the floor instead of interrupting it.
Do you handle matching floor trim, transition strips, or molding details too?
Yes — if the job involves matching wood-floor accessories around the stair or floor edge, that is part of the type of finishing problem we are built to help solve.
What is the typical turnaround time?
Standard lead time is 4 days from when we receive your flooring material and order details. Same-day rush orders are available when the job cannot wait.
